These products ensured steady sales, but prosperity was not always in the bag as foreign competition began to erode their market share.

So when Mike Simmons, president, heard about TAAF from a consultant, he was intrigued, met with Ken Scheve, TAAC project manager and found the company qualified for the program. With TAAF funds, the company has implemented a broad array of projects: market research, trade show display materials and representation, software upgrades and an improved website.

Securing the funds to attend trade shows demos opened doors, Barry Newkirk, general manager, says,¬†leading to an increase in requests for quotes.¬†¬†“But the biggest thing in my book was being able to assess our processes,” he says. He adds that it’s too soon to place a dollar amount on these improvements, but expects it to be significant.
