Grant helps small Missouri businesses export

The U.S. Small Business Administration recently awarded the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) $634,000 to help small businesses enter and succeed in the international marketplace.

MO STEP=UP is a program funded in part by the SBA that can help defray the costs of foreign sales trips, translation services, international trade show and trade mission fees, currency exchange fees, shipping, export research, website development and other exporting costs.

Applicants must have at least one year of business experience, fewer than 500 employees, be a for-profit business and demonstrate export sale potential and intent.

Need help determining which trade shows to enter, what costs may be deductible or whether you are eligible? Contact the MO SBTDC’s International Trade Center.
